Do You Have "Bad Vibes"? Time For an Energetic Reset!

You know that feeling when you walk into a room and meet someone new and just feel...bad vibes? There may be little to no reason in your logical mind for that feeling (you don't even know them!) and yet you feel the need to cut and run all the same?

This phenomenon has always been the easiest way for me to describe energy as the basis for my work. We are all made of energy and we are all giving out and picking up energy all day. Some of that feels good (like when we are with a friend who we feel supported by and leave feeling energized) and some of it feels not so good (like being around judgmental/mean/super negative people who you feel drained after seeing). And then, of course, sometimes WE are the judgmental/mean/super negative person with the bad vibes and it doesn't even feel good to be in our own energy!

Hiccups in the System

Life happens and our energy/body is so very affected by the events around us whether they are on a global scale (pandemic? racism? global warming?) or a personal scale (family trauma, breakups, physical injuries). Like I shared last week, these events (if not processed or discharged fully) can disrupt the energetic flow of our body, like little hiccups in our systems. I believe our bodies are always trying to get back to their natural flow state and will often send us (annoying) messages to encourage us to seek that balance.

Looking For Balance

I now believe that my anxiety, which I struggled with and against for so many years, is simply my bodies' way of alerting me to this type of disruption in my system. A message to say things are off and we need help/balance. At the peak of my struggle with anxiety a few years ago, there were a variety of physical things that needed my attention: how I was taking physical care of myself, unhealthy relationships I was in, an unfulfilling career path, etc.

But then there were the things I couldn't explain physically. The things that made me feel not good in my own body. I didn't want to sit alone in my energy, it felt unsafe and unsettled. This was where energy healing, and specifically Reiki, came in. Receiving energetic resets from healers helped me, little by little, feel good in my body again. While I had no idea why at the time, I now look back and see all of the ways I was able to release the "hiccups" I'd acquired in my system over so many years to let my energy flow freely again.

Those energy releases don't always feel good. Sometimes the old emotion or memory that needed to be released brings some feelings as it goes. But what a relief to let it out. To stop holding onto all of the junk and feel safe in my own body again. And when combined with meditation, the benefits of energy healing I have experienced over the years have deeply changed my life. On the outside sure, but mostly on the inside. How I relate to myself, to my body, and to the world around me.
